patThe choral life of the Landsker Singers has been greatly enhanced by the wealth of musical knowledge offered by Pat both during her time in business as Swales Music Centre, Haverfordwest and also as a valued guest conductor both for rehearsals and performances. She is always willing to offer her guidance and assistance whenever called upon and the sharing of her time, knowledge and music collection with the choir is greatly appreciated.

 

Musical Director/Co-Founder – Shirley Williams BEM LRAM

shirleyShirley is a Pembrokeshire born soprano soloist and teacher of music. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and as a chorister, both with the Cardiff Polyphonic and the BBC Welsh Chorus, she has performed at prestigious locations worldwide including Japan and the Holy Land. As a student she was privileged to be part of the Investiture Choir for the Investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle in 1969.
Shirley has devoted much of her life to encouraging young people to sing by nurturing in them a love of music and choral singing. She founded the Landsker Singers along with Edmund ‘Wally’ Walters in 1990, and through her dedication the choir has grown and developed and many of the current singers are original members of The Shirley Williams Junior Singers, her girls’ choir of almost 30 years ago.
